Employment Relationships



Personal Relationships:

Close personal or romantic relationships between employees must not interfere with workplace productivity and management.


Public displays of affection in the workplace or content of personal conversations must not distract others or reflect poorly on the professionalism of Spectrum and its employees.

Family Relationships:

Family members may not directly supervise or audit each other.

General Relationships:

All hiring practices must be compliant with government requirements and limitations.


Personal interaction between employees and contracting organizations must be limited to prevent the perception of undue influence.


Acts and threats of violence towards any Spectrum employee are taken seriously and will not be tolerated.






Who is considered to be a family member under the code?

A: A family member can be any of the following: spouse, domestic partner, parent, sibling, child, grandparent, grandchild, niece or nephew, aunt or uncle, cousin, stepchild, or in-law. It can also be anyone living in your household, or anyone you are dependent upon or anyone dependent upon you or one of your relatives. Remember, potential conflicts are not limited to just relationships with relatives or family members. Conflicts of interest may arise with anyone with whom you have a friendship or personal relationship.
