In our line of business, protected data is critical. Just as we protect our data, we must ensure that we use data and information developed by others properly. There is corporate and personal liability associated with misuse of copyrighted data that Spectrum employees must be aware of.
Reproducing or distributing work developed and distributed by another author without first obtaining written permission.
Be aware of and adhere to all applicable copyright laws for protected materials of others.
Written approval is required to reproduce and/or distribute protected Spectrum documents.
Only properly licensed software may be used on company computers.
Music and video downloads used in the workplace must be obtained legally.
Be aware that copying, distributing, downloading / uploading and storing information to/from the internet may infringe upon copyrights.
Government information that is considered “fair use” can be freely copied and distributed.
